Castries, Saint Lucia — The RR Aquatics Swim Club is proud to announce that three of its rising stars — Orlando Felix (age 10), Andrew Charlemagne (age 8), and Liam Charlemagne (age 6) — have been selected to represent Team Saint Lucia at the 29th Annual Goodwill Swimming Championships, scheduled to be held in Barbados from August 15–17, 2025.
Saint Lucia’s Carnival has once again proven its magnetic appeal, with preliminary figures for 2025 revealing an all-time high in visitor arrivals. The island welcomed approximately 24,500 visitors during the recent carnival period, marking a significant 36% surge over last year’s numbers.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, in partnership with the Customs and Excise Department,
continues to intensify interdiction efforts following a rise in drug trafficking activities at the
island’s ports of entry.
Both the Customs and Excise Department and the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit (GNFU)
have observed a marked increase in attempts to import illegal narcotics, often concealed within
barrels and other cargo. These developments have prompted heightened surveillance and joint
enforcement operations.
On Monday July, 21, 2025 Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department
responded to a report of a stabbing at Vigie, Castries.
Officers were informed that the victim was transported to the Owen King European
Hospital (OKEU) via Saint Lucia Fire Service. He was later pronounced dead by a
medical practitioner. He has been identified as Sherman Augustin twenty-three (23)
year-old of Agard, Castries.
On Sunday July 20, 2025 about 7:55 p.m., the Marchand Police Station received
information of a shooting along the Marchand Road. Officers were informed of two
shooting victims.
One male victim was pronounced dead at the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU)
by a medical practitioner. He has been identified as Kwame George a forty-five (45)
year old male of Marchand Road.
On Tuesday, July 08, 2025, about 11:00 a.m., the body of a male believed to be that
of Travis Andrew Wyant, a thirthy-seven (37)-year-old American national, was
discovered along the shoreline at Rodney Bay. Wyant had been reported missing
from the previous day. A post-mortem examination on the body was initially
scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 08, 2025, however, had to be rescheduled
due to circumstances arising at the Pathology department of the OKEU Hospital.
On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, about 9:45 p.m. Police Officers attached to the Anse La
Raye Police Station, responded to a report of an assault at Au Tabor, Anse La Raye.
Initial inquiries revealed that one (1) unconscious male was discovered with an
apparent wound, on the roadside at Au Tabor, Anse La Raye. The victim was
transported to the (OKEU) Owen King European Hospital via ambulance.
