Police Marine Unit Investigates Fatal Boating Incident at Canaries Bay. On Tuesday May 3, 2025, about 1:49 p.m. the Police Marine Unit responded to a fatal collision involving a vessel and diver, off Canaries. On arrival, an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident was launched. The victim was assessed and pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.

He has been formally identified as Nelson James of Anse La Raye. A post-mortem examination of the deceased is scheduled for a later date.The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force Police Marine Unit is urging the public to exercise all necessary precautions when venturing out at sea.
